Lahoma residents are offered several choices on election day
Several citizens in Lahoma have stepped up to say they want to make a difference in how their little community is run.
Lahoma is a small town west of Enid with not even 600 residents; however, 10 of those residents are running for three open town council seats.
The sudden interest in public services can be viewed in two ways. One way is there are some problems in the community some citizens feel aren’t being addressed adequately enough by their current town board. The other view is there are people in the town with good ideas who think they can contribute their talents and ideas to the community.
The voters of Lahoma are fortunate that 10 people are saying they want to serve. They are fortunate to have these kinds of choices for their town board seats. That’s the best way for the people of Lahoma to view the unusually high number of people interested in these three seats.
Now, the people of Lahoma need to participate and vote on Tuesday. Some of the candidates indicated the town has too much apathy or people don’t get involved enough.
People of Lahoma can change that perception loudly and clearly by voting in record numbers for the candidates of their choice in this election, and then following up by attending town board meetings and letting their town leaders know what they want — and they are watching what they do!
