ENID, Okla. —
I read with great interest about changes at the Oakwood Mall and the building of the new outdoor mall in its place. I think it will be a good thing.
It seems like though, about 35 years ago, we had a beautiful outdoor mall that was he envy of nearly every city in Oklahoma, except we called it the “downtown square.”
On another note, every time I drive by the old Garfield School, I look at the pillars on the front of the building.
If feasible, wouldn’t it be great to save these and incorporate them in some way in the Renais-sance Enid project or maybe as a “gateway” into downtown Enid. Just a thought. Keep smiling.
