ENID, Okla. —
I’m sorry Chick-fil-A is moving out of the mall. Whenever we go there to eat, we always check out the specials at Bath and Body Works, shoes at Famous Footwear and end up at Dillards. If we drive through outside, we probably won’t bother to go in.
Is this the first step in “de-malling?” I don’t want to lose our mall. We went to The Legends in Kansas City at Christmas time. It is an open-air mall like has been proposed for Enid.
It was so cold, there was hardly anyone there. We went to one store and ended up driving to Overland Park, Kan., to the indoor mall. It was packed.
Kansas City has weather similar to ours. When we were there last summer, it was 105 and almost unbearable then, too. I just don’t see the benefit of tearing down a good thing to try to be trendy or whatever the reason is. Is there anyone out there who can tell me why this is happening?
