Big thumbs up to Gerald, Justin Craparotta for leading the two Enid Masonic Lodges

ENID, Okla. — Two thumbs up for a father-son duo simultaneously serving as leaders of the two Enid Masonic lodges.

Gerald “Crappy” Craparotta is worshipful master of Garfield Lodge 80, and Justin Craparotta now is worshipful master of Lodge 501. The worshipful master essentially is the president of the lodge.

You may have seen these guys around town. Gerald, known for Crappy’s Warehouse, formerly owned Louisa’s Restaurant. Justin is sous chef at Costello’s Continental Cuisine.

Congrats to Crappy’s clan on this historic achievement!



Thumbs up for the Junior Welfare League of Enid nearly meeting its fundraising goal to establish its downtown location and increase the good it does in the community.

In August of last year, JWL Enid purchased the building at 121 N. Grand as the new location for its consignment shop, Return Engagement.

Since then, improvements have been under way and the longtime Enid organization has raised 84 percent of what it needs to finish the project, Building Chairwoman Jessica Edwards said.

JWL raised $341,000 as of Nov. 26 and has about $82,000 left to raise.



Thumbs down for the lack of information in the murder of Heath Crites.

The 24-year-old was found shot multiple times before Christmas in the 300 block of East Columbia.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation into Crites’ murder is ongoing. We’re saddened by this rare Enid killing, and we hope authorities quickly catch those involved.

Multiple thumbs up to Garfield County officials recently sworn in by District Judge Paul Woodward.

Newly elected Garfield County Sheriff Jerry Niles, Court Clerk Margaret Jones, Count Clerk Kathy Hughes and County Commissioner Reese Wedel were sworn in last week.

Congrats on taking the oath to serve our county.
