Vote ‘yes’ for Enid’s children and its future

Enid News and Eagle

- — Over the past 16 months, it has been my privilege to participate with a group of other citizens from our community in a thorough review of the Enid Public School facilities. I can tell you it has been an eye-opening experience, and I believe the children of our community deserve better and the citizens of Enid can do better.

The bond initiative that has been put forth for a vote on Feb. 9 is not a perfect solution to all of the public school facility needs. However, it is a very positive and bold step forward in making the necessary improvements needed to address a large portion of the immediate needs. Yes, it comes with a large price tag and will require some sacrifice on the part of all of our citizens. At an average cost of $7.29 per month for the average Enid homeowner, I hope this is an investment Enid citizens will see value in making for our future.

Enid is a growing community and this is good for all of our citizens. Growth creates opportunities and challenges. Sustained and meaningful growth is not possible without a quality education and a quality environment that fosters learning.

Please vote “yes” on Feb. 9 and make an investment in making Enid’s future even brighter!
