ENID, Okla. —
Politicians who say we shouldn’t support new energy technology, such as wind farms, are wrong.
Our government has a long history of supporting infrastructure and items such as our interstate highway system, the railroad network, space exploration and other large and important projects that simply would not get off the ground without help, due to their enormous nature. Also, see the invention of the Internet.
Once upon a time, the large automobile manufacturers were against electric cars (except for a few very early models). Now you see them making electric hybrid cars.
It has taken 40 years or more for solar and wind power to become popular.
Oil companies have bitterly resisted the move away from oil, but we have to do it.
Having redundant sources of energy will make us stronger and more flexible.
Remember, thousands of federal bureaucrats never get elected and yet have 30 or 40 years of active influence.
Politicians are not the only people advancing policy.
