Enid, OK — Funeral service for Mary Ann Skrdla, 66, of Medford, will be 10 a.m. today, Nov. 24, 2009, at First Baptist Church, Medford. The Rev. Dr. Jimmie D. Lady and Rev. Bobby Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Renfrow Czecho-slovakian Cemetery, Ren-frow, Okla. The casket will remain closed at all times. Arrangements are under the direction of Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford.

Mary was born May 23, 1943, in Anthony, Kan., to Harry Fredrick and Arline Nancy Pontius Mohler and passed from this life on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, in Enid.

She was raised on a farm northeast of Wakita. In 1954, the family moved to Ponca City and lived on a dairy farm. She went to a country school that was a mile from the farm for about a year. In the spring of 1956, they moved to Tonkawa, where she was a starter player on the basketball team and was in the pep club. She attended Northern Oklahoma College for a year.

On Oct. 7, 1966, she and Louis Joseph Skrdla Jr. were married in Tonkawa. The couple farmed in the Renfrow area.

Mary was a homemaker and had worked at the ASC office for several years in bookkeeping and then she went to work in accounts receivable for Don and Sara Stork at their service station. She worked for Sheina Frieouf in accounts receivable and accounts payable for years. She worked at the Medford Co-op in bookkeeping for years. In 1996, Louis and Mary established Chisholm Trail Feeds. They worked side by side serving Medford and surrounding cities and states. In 2004, she went to work for Stephen L. Jones Law Office in accounts receivable and accounts payable for four years. She was working for her daughter and son-in-law at Enid Pain and Spine as a billing specialist until the day of her death.

Mary was baptized and gave her life to Jesus, joining the First Baptist Church in Tonkawa. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Medford, Busy Moms and Oklahoma Polka Club. She loved to plant flowers and vegetables and see the wheat growing with Louis. She enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, friend and employee.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Max Mohler.

Mary is survived by her husband, Louis, of the home; two sons, Fred Skrdla of Ponca City and Greg Skrdla of Kaw City; two daughters, Mary Enderud and husband Ron of Kaw City, and Barbara Owens and husband Chad of Enid; 14 grandchildren, Brandi, Brad, Laura, Justin, Gage, Seth, Greer, Dalton, Savanna, Stephanie, Garrett, Jaid, Treyton and Brant; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Pearcy of Ponca City and Phyllis Edwards of Spring, Texas; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
