Enid, OK — The funeral service for Mable L. Chase, 86-year-old Enid resident will be 2 p.m. Satur-day, Nov. 21, 2009, at King-dom Hall of Jeho-vah’s Wit-ness. Rob-ert Full-erton will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Mable was born May 9, 1923, in Bristow, Okla., to Frank and Lena (Ireland) Spoonemore and died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at her home in Enid.
Her family moved to Enid when she was young. She attended the local grade school and Longfellow Junior High.
On Jan. 18, 1938, she married Newton R. Chase in Enid. They lived briefly in Beaver, Okla., and then made their home in Enid. She was a homemaker. Newton went to serve during World War II and she worked as a waitress. Later she worked at Garfield Elementary School.
She was a long-time member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness. She enjoyed gardening and earlier in their marriage, the couple loved to travel.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Van Meter and husband Ernie; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Newton; two grandsons; one great-grandson; four brothers; and four sisters.
