He graduated from Garber High School. He was a farmer, raised cattle and worked in the oil fields. He married Deborah Cramer Nov. 11, 1986, in Breckinridge, where they made their home. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and attended Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church.
Surviving are his wife, Deborah of the home; two children, Holli M. and Kyle R. Kroll of the home; one brother; and one sister.
He was preceded in death by one brother.

He was born Aug. 20, 1929, in Woods County to John and Clara Eckels Wheat and died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Share Convalescent Home, Alva.
He attended McKeever School. He served over six years in the Army. He married Evelyn Ella Feitzinger May 19, 1951, at Lyndhurst, N.J. He drove a truck until he retired in 1989. He moved to Alva in October 2002. He was a member of Alva Masonic Lodge 105, a 32nd degree member of Guthrie Scottish Rite Consistory, India Shrine, and American Legion Post 92.
Surviving are his daughter, Judy Hawksford of Alva; two brothers, Walter Combs of Rimrock, Ariz., and Joe Combs of Springdale, Ark.; four sisters, Lorna Susie Canaan of Alva, Rosemary Patton of Mira Loma, Calif., Virginia Lever of Pueblo West, Colo., and Esther Mayfield of LaJolla, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Evelyn, he was preceded in death by two sisters.

She was born May 29, 1940, at Smith Farm to John Freeman and Gladys Evelyn Mapes Smith and died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at Cherokee Manor, Cherokee.
She was raised in Farry and graduated in 1957 at age 16. She graduated from Venus Beauty Academy, Wichita, Kan.
She married Wilburn Lee Shook Dec. 19, 1958. They made their home in Wyoming for several years in Worland, Riverton and Lander. They moved back to Oklahoma in 1973, making their home in Dacoma. She worked at Carmen High School as a cook from 1974-1980, then worked in the Dacoma Elementary School lunchroom from 1980-1992. She attended Cedar Grove Wesleyan, Nazarene Church in Lander and Dacoma Church of God.
Surviving are her husband, Wilburn, of the home; three daughters, Gladys Mae Bradford of the home, Rebecca Lynn Bebermeyer of Dacoma and Rebecca Susanne Shook of the home; one sister, Wilma Goodman; one brother, Glen Smith of Carmen; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.

She was born Oct. 14, 1948, in Arkansas City, Kan., to Joseph and Lois Marie Barker Williams and died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, in Enid.
She graduated from Enid High School in 1966. She worked at Oklahoma Natural Gas and Williams Natural Gas Co. She married Jim Prewett June 2, 1990, in Enid.
She graduated from vo-tech as an LPN in 1993. She owned and operated New Beginnings Home Health Care in Enid for the last eight years. She was a member of Oakwood Christian Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Debbie Simmons of Kremlin, Christie Watkins of Carrier, Michelle Gilbert of Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., and Jennifer Childers of Little Rock Ark.; one brother Dewayne Williams of Enid; two sisters, Helena Gappa of Stillwater and Connie Johndrow of Enid; and 11 grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Jim, she was preceded in death by her parents.

DONALD ECKELS
The funeral for Donald Eckels, 76, of Alva, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church. Dr. Gray Hook will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva.
He was born Nov. 25, 1931, in the Whitehorse area west of Alva to Marvin Silas and May Rose Tucker Eckels and died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Share Medical Center, Alva.
He attended Whitehorse rural grade school and graduated from Farry High School in 1949. In 1950, he joined the Army and was discharged in 1954. He married Suzetta Marie Hada April 1, 1955, at Woodward. They made their home in Alva, and he attended Northwestern State College, receiving a degree in industrial arts. He started teaching at Englewood, Cullison and Cimarron high schools. They returned to Alva in 1968, and he started farming and ranching. He also did custom harvesting for over 40 years. He spent the last few years as a trucker hauling grain. He served on the Alva school board several years.
Surviving are his two daughters, Jackie Neal of West Monroe, La., and DeAnna West of Blanchard; two sons, Douglas of Woodward and Duane of Alva; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

She was born Oct. 18, 1914, at Catesby to Ralph Gordon and Hallie Lucrece White Rose and died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, in Twin Oaks Manor, Booker, Texas.
She attended schools in Catesby, Woodward and Laverne. She married James Earl Roach Aug. 29, 1931, in Shattuck. He preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1986.
They made their home in Catesby and Slapout. They moved to Mooreland in 1973, where she lived until March 2007, when she moved to Booker, Texas. She was a housewife, a World Book representative and area manager for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Janice Thomason of Selah, Wash; two sons, Jim Roach and Claude Roach, both of Woodward; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James.

He was born Jan. 20, 1925, in Okeene to Herman and Pearl Shaw Bartel and died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Fairview Hospital, Fairview.
He attended school in Homestead and Longdale. He served in the Army and Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked for civil service at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, retiring after 33 years of service. He married Pearl Estes in 1942. He married Arleda Landt Schiska in 1947. He married Joy Doerksen. She died in 1996. He married Patricia Hope Boyington in 1997.
Surviving are his wife, Pat, of Longdale; three children, Ray Dean Bartel of Enid, Edward Earl Bartel Jr. of Longdale and Ray Dean Schiska of Newcastle; one brother, Clinton Ray Bartel of Canon City, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Surviving are one son, David Cappelli of Enid and one brother, Richard Henning of Middletown, Pa.

He lived in Watonga the last 30 years and was a farmer-rancher. He worked with custom combining for many years. He married Marie Homier Oct. 15, 1942, at Kingfisher.
He was a member of Elks Lodge in Kingfisher, Oklaho-ma Cattlemen’s Association and Modern Woodsmen Association.
Surviving are his wife, Marie, of the home; one son, Doug of Garden City, Kan.; one sister, Betty Buettner of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons.

He attended Alva Public Schools and later earned his GED. He served in the Army. After his discharge, he worked as a mechanic. He married Loretta McKinley July 8, 1968, in Texas. They made their home in Carmen, Guthrie and Waynoka.
Surviving are one son, Wesley Hoffman, and one grandson, both of Guthrie.
He was preceded in death by one brother.

His family relocated to Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico. He married Rosa Gardea Sept. 8, 1973. He came to the United States in 1980. He worked as a farmer for Danny Randolph, Bob Taylor and Jerry Howard. He also worked as a welder for Joe Hamilton at Knowles. He established his own welding company, Fuentes Welding, in 2006.
Surviving are his wife, Rosenda, of the home; two sons, Daniel Fuentes of Edmond and Richard Fuentes of Richmond, Mich.; two daughters, Shelly Quintana Fuentes Canton of Ashland, Kan., and Angela Fuentes Gonzalez; his brothers and sisters; and numerous grandchildren.

He graduated high school in Shawneetown. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps. He worked most of his life in the oil fields retiring from Jimmie Austin and Son’s (Exeter) Drilling Company as a tool pusher. He married Barbara Ann Walton June 15, 1951, in Arkansas. They made their home in Enid from 1963. She preceded him in death. He married Wilma Jean Smith Bell in 1995, in Sulpher Springs, Texas, and they made their home in Enid.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma, of the home; three daughters, Tina Noa of Advance, N.C., Sherry Inselman of Enid and Nancy Chapman of West Fork AR; two sons, Bill Rose of Cypress, Texas, and Thad Bell of Enid; one sister, Jolene Nixon of Mt. Vernon, IL; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
