BETTY ELLEN DIRKSEN

The funeral for Betty Ellen Dirksen, 81, of Medford, will be 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Medford. The Rev. William R. Chace will officiate. Burial will be in Caldwell Cemetery, Caldwell, Kan. Arrangements are by Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford.

She was born Dec. 13, 1925, in Renfrow to John Samuel and Pearl Teel Flaming and died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, in St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Enid.

She attended rural grade school and graduated from Medford High School in 1943. She married Carl Jacob Dirksen Sept. 15, 1946, in Medford. She was employed by Grant County AAA office and as a deputy county treasurer and secretary for the county superintendent. She was secretary for the county and district attorney offices for 30 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was organist for Medford Methodist Church for more than 40 years.

Surviving are one daughter, Cheryl Rolin of Marlow; and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl.

LINDA SUE HENNEKE

A memorial service for Linda Sue Henneke, 59, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church. Daniel Thimell, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Waukomis Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

She was born Aug. 30, 1948, in Enid, to Walter L. and Hilda Rueter Henneke, and died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, in St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Enid.

She attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School in 1966. She attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan., where she received a bachelor’s degree in education. She received her master’s degree in library science from the University of Oklahoma. She was school librarian in Silver Lake, Kan., for five years. She returned to Enid where she was the children’s librarian at Public Library of Enid and Garfield County. She was a lifetime member of Faith Lutheran Church where she served as worship chairman for many years. She was on the board of Community Development Suppport Association, Public Library of Enid and Garfield County board, and Independent Living Center.

Surviving are her mother, Hilda, of the home; one brother, David Henneke of Centerville, Kan.; and one sister, Carol Trager of Wichita, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Henneke.

ROGER DAILY GREEN

The funeral for Roger Daily Green, 60, of Seiling, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Elm Grove Church. Orville White, pastor, will officiate. Burial with full military rites will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the church.

He was born July 28, 1947, southeast of Seiling to Van Daily and Alma Lorene Lloyd Green and died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, near Mutual from injuries received in an automobile accident.

He attended school in Seiling, graduating from Seiling High School in 1966. He attended vocational school at Okmulgee Tech, completing training in parts and supply. He entered the Army in 1969 and served in Vietnam. He was awarded Bronze Star Medal and Army Commendation Medal for service in Vietnam. He received an honorable discharge in 1973. He joined the Army National Guard and recived an honorable discharge in January 1987. He married Debra Diane Shuck Jan. 10, 1972, in Midwest City. They moved to Enid, where he worked for Failing Oil Field Supply for 11 years. They moved to Seiling, where he worked at Sinclair station and later for National Oil Well Supply in Woodward. He worked for PIC, which later became Seaboard Farms. He was working as a truck driver for an oil field supply company. He attended Elm Grove Community Church.

Surviving are two sons, Justin Green of Watonga and Ross Green of Woodward; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

DEBRA DIANE SHUCK GREEN

The funeral for Debra Diane Shuck Green, 54, of Seiling, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Elm Grove Church. Orville White, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are by Redinger Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the church.

She was born Dec. 13, 1952, in Woodward to Bobby Gene and Doris Jane Lord Shuck and died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, near Mutual as a result of an automobile accident.

She attended school at Chester school and Woodward High School. She married Roger D. Green Jan. 10, 1972, in Midwest City. They moved to Enid, and he worked at Failing Oil Field Supply. Later, they moved to Seiling, where she was a homemaker. She attended Elm Grove Community Church.

Surviving are two sons, Justin Green of Watonga and Ross Green of Woodward; three sisters, Ramona Straw and Cindy Kimmel, both of Dalton, Ga., and Jenny Shuck of Needles, Calif.; two brothers, Don Shuck of Guthrie and Cy Shuck of Needles; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

JANICE FAY JORDAN STAFFORD

The funeral for Janice Fay Jordan Stafford, 56, will be 1 p.m. Monday at New Dimension Church, Oklahoma City. Carl Flynn, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home, Watonga.

She was born Nov. 5, 1950, in Readland, Ark., to Joe Willie and Frankie Beatrice Jordan and died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, in Oklahoma City.

She attended Edwards Elementary School, F.D. Moon Junior High School and Douglas High School in Oklahoma City. She worked as a domestic employee most of her working career. She was a member of Hope Baptist Church, Watonga.

She married Joe Stafford, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are her mother, Frankie B. Jordan of Oklahoma City, and her father, Joe Willie Jordan.





OSCAR HUGHES

The funeral for Oscar Hughes, 93, of Freedom, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Freedom High School Auditorium. The Rev. Aaron Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Haskew Cemetery. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home, Woodward. Visitation will be 1-6 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

He was born Nov. 28, 1913, in Yewed to Charles Evart and Anna Enola Walker Hughes and died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at his home south of Freedom.

He attended West Union Country School and graduated from Freedom High School in 1932. He attended Oklahoma A&M;, where he majored in mechanical engineering before moving back to Freedom to help his father on the farm. He married Velma Holloway Dec. 26, 1937. She preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 1998. He later married Georgia Redding Holloway March 23, 2002, in Freedom. They made their home on the farm. He was a member of United Methodist Church of Freedom. He was instrumental in starting Woodward County Rural Water District No. 1. He was honored as “Old Cowhand” in 1993 at the Freedom Rodeo.

Surviving are his wife Georgia Hughes, of the home; one daughter, Rowena Nickelson of Guymon; one son, Boyd Hughes of Freedom; one sister, Viola Hilbig of Freedom; two stepsons, Gary Hollowary of Selah, Wash., and Roger Holloway of Soap Lake, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Betty Hagen of Woodward and Linda Mosman of Forney, Texas; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and nine stepgrandchildren.

In addition to his wife Velma, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one infant grandson.

SCOTT BECKETT BELL

The funeral for Scott Beckett Bell, age 56, will be held today, October 27, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gary Lillie will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery.

Scott was born July 27, 1951, in Des Moines, IA to Robert and Helen (Beckett) Bell and died October 23, 2007, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Enid, OK.

He graduated from fire services at Oklahoma State University. He has worked at Vance Air Force Base at the fire station for 32 years.

Scott married Vicky LaChance on December 29, 1979. Of this union they had two children, Anastey Marie and Andrew Joseph.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky, of the home; daughter, Anastey Marie and husband Larry Lovely II of Enid; and son, Andrew Joseph Bell of Ponca City,OK.

Memorials may be made to the Osage Cove Fire Department with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
