ELSIE M. SCHAEFER

The funeral for Elsie M. Schaefer, 90, of Marshall, will be 10 a.m. today at Assembly of God Church, Garber. The Rev. Barry Prock will officiate. Burial will be in Marshall South Cemetery, Marshall. Arrange-ments are by Dugger Funeral Home, Garber.

She was born May 13, 1916, in Maramec to John Franklin and Jettie Wick and died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, in Blanchard.

She married W.L. Schaefer Aug. 4, 1946. He died in 1992. She was a social worker for Department of Human Services in Logan County for more than 20 years. She was a member of Assembly of God Church in Garber.

Surviving are one son, Bill Schaefer of Garber; one daughter, Barbara Stratton of Blanchard; one sister, Juanita Holsinger of Edmond; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

WILMA I. FRANKLIN

A memorial service for Wilma I. Franklin, 89, of Topeka, Kan., formerly of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Alan Seibel will officiate. Burial will be in North I.O.O.F. Marshall Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 24, 1917, in Marshall to William D. and Mabel Winburn and died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, in Topeka.

She attended local schools and graduated from Marshall High School. She married Benjamin Max Franklin July 13, 1940, in Enid. She worked for the Enid News and Eagle. She was a member of Davis Park Christian Church.

Surviving are two sons, Jon D. Franklin of Maryland and Douglas C. Franklin of Topeka; two granddaughters; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin, one daughter, one brother and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Davis Park Christian Church.



FRANCES ORA SNOW

No funeral for Frances Ora “Peggy” Bennett Snow, 100, is planned. A family and friend visitation will be 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Waukomis Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 20, 1906, in Drummond to Rodman Foster and Ida Belle Bowman Bennett and died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, in Owasso.

She graduated from Enid High School in 1924. She married Frank Snow June 7, 1924, in Kingfisher. They lived and farmed east of Waukomis in the Pioneer community for 30 years. They moved to Enid in 1954. She was a member of Hackberry Club, Pioneer Priscilla Club, Pioneer Grange, Enid Rebekah Lodge of I.O.O.F. and Willow View United Methodist Church in Enid. She moved to Alterra Sterling House in 1997.

Surviving are two daughters, Lois Dick of Wichita, Kan., and Jean Douglas of Owasso; one sister, Lola Ream of Bakersfield, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, one son, five brothers and three sisters.

CURTIS MELVIN STEVENSON

The funeral for Curtis Melvin Stevenson, 75, will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Alfred Baldwin Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Russ-worm Funeral Home, Enid.

He was born March 30, 1931, in Guthrie to Melvin and Alma Stevenson and died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at his home.

He grew up on the family farm east of Dover. He attended Booker T. Washing-ton Elemen-tary and High School, graduating in 1948. He married Minnie Dunnigan June 6, 1949. He later married Essie Richardson Nov. 22, 1963. She died in January 2002. He worked for Hackney Iron and Steel and George E. Failing Co. He had a trucking business and a landscaping business. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church where he served as chairman of the deacon board and finance committee. He was an adult Sunday school teacher. He was affiliated with Western District Laymen Association. He was a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge, and a member of NAACP and local Democratic Party.

Surviving are his six children, Linda Caldwell of Dover, Bernell Stevenson of Lake Forest, Calif., Debra Clark of Columbus, Ohio, Eric Stevenson of El Reno, Donna Johnson of Saginaw, Mich., and Yvette Davis of Enid; three sisters, Vivian Jean Baines of Los Angeles, Calif., Mylene Decatur of Torrence, Calif., and Gloria Stevenson Cole of Oklahoma City; close friend, Dorothy Jones; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Essie, one brother and two grandsons.

WALTER RAGOSS

The funeral for Walter Ragoss, 98, of Breckinridge, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Breckinridge. The Rev. Arthur McCormick will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born July 29, 1908, on the family farm to Julius A. and Mary A. Engelkemier Ragoss and died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, in Enid.

He attended District 46 grade school. He married Elsie Lang Jan. 1, 1930, in Enid. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Breckinridge. He was a farmer and rancher.

Surviving are two daughters, Darlene Keilbarth of Enid and Ladova Roggow of Breckinridge; two sons, Harlan Ragoss of Enid and Gene Ragoss of Hunter; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elsie, three brothers, one sister and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Immanuel Lutheran Church improvement fund, Camp Lutherhoma or charity of choice.

KURT DOUGLAS HOBBS SR.

Funeral services for Kurt Douglas Hobbs Sr., 58, will be today, Jan. 27, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Tony Crispo will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Kurt was born Dec. 29, 1948, in Enid to Nelson and Betty (Tinder) Hobbs and died Jan. 24, 2007, after a long illness.

He graduated from Enid High School in 1966. He attended Northwestern College in Alva from 1966-1969.

He served in the Air Force from 1969 to 1976 as sergeant. He served in Thailand and then in Big Springs, Texas, and Glasgow, Mont. as an air traffic controller. From 1976 to 1979 he served on the Enid Police Department and from 1979-1996 he was a flight simulator operator at Vance Air Force Base.

He married Marilyn Webb on May 5, 1970, in Oklahoma City.

Kurt loved to fish and hunt, tinker with computers, collect movies and he loved Christmas. He was a gunfighter at Frontier City and also collected guns. He loved drag racing and going fast.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn, of the home; children, Kurt D. Hobbs Jr. and his wife Angill of Enid, Kelly Dugger and husband Buddy of Enid, David Hobbs of Midwest City; grandchildren, Derek and Dustin Maxwell, Dane Dugger and Lexie Overstreet, Nick, Ashley and Austin Hobbs, Kenda Case, Kurt D. Hobbs III; mother, Betty Lack formerly of Enid; sisters, Beth Steier and husband Ted of Enid, Frieda Kliewer and husband Glenn of Fairview and Beverly and Nelda Hobbs of Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson J. Hobbs Sr.; stepfather, James Lack; brother, Nelson Jack Hobbs Jr.; and sister, Tammy Lack.

Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
