The funeral for Juan LaFrance Allen, 45, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Lewisville, Texas. The Rev. Maceo McDaniels will officiate. Burial will be in El Reno Cemetery, El Reno. Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home.
He was born Aug. 11, 1961, in Oklahoma City and died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, in Lewisville.
He was raised by his mother and grandmother. He attended Booker T. Washington school in El Reno and was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church where he sang in the junior choir and served as junior usher. He graduated from El Reno High School in 1979 and attended college at USO and graduated from Oklahoma City College. Fol-lowing college, he worked in many fields in the Oklahoma City area.
He married Belinda Johnson. In the late 1980s he moved to Flower Mound, Texas, where he lived at the time of his death.
Surviving are three daughters, Brooke N. Allen, Cedonia F. Nickerson and Jacquelyn M. Allen, all of Arlington, Texas, and his mother, Pearl Allen of El Reno.
EUGENE WINCHESTER
The funeral for Eugene Winchester, 77, will be 10 a.m. Friday, at Binger Baptist Church, Binger. The Rev. Donald Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Murray Cemetery, Binger. Arrange-ments are by Turner Funeral Home, Binger.
He was born Oct. 2, 1929, in Binger to James P. and Artie V. Tucker Winchester and died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at his home in Kingsland, Texas.
He graduated from Binger High School in 1949 and entered the Army in October 1951, serving in Korea as communications chief. He was discharged with the rank of sergeant in October 1959.
He married Milie McLane May 27, 1955, in Albert.
He graduated from Okla-homa State University in 1958 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Following graduation he worked 34 years for George E. Failing Co. as a mechanical engineer. After retiring he moved to Kingsland, Texas.
Surviving are his wife, Milie of the home; one son, Jim Winchester of Beaver Crossing, Neb.; three sisters, Ona Mae Edwards of Las Vegas, Velena Jo Standridge of Kingsland and Odie Tackett of Binger; one brother, Karl Winchester of West Covina, Calif.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
BUDDY CARL ‘CELL’ BENCE
The funeral for Buddy Carl “Cell” Bence, 44, will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Waynoka. The Rev. David Shaw will officiate. Burial will be in Waynoka Municipal Cemetery. He was born April 21, 1962, in Hayes, Kan., to Buddy Carl Bence and Jonnie Kay Bell Williams and died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, in Tulsa.
Following graduation from Waynoka High School he attended Friends University in Wichita, Kan. He worked as a framer in the construction business and attended Baptist church.
Surviving are one son, Cole Bence of Alva; one daughter, Felicia Russell of Virginia; one sister, Candy Long of Tulsa; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

KEITH B. SMITH
A memorial service for Keith B. Smith, 51, will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Oklahoma State Capitol Rotunda, Oklahoma City. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery at a later date.
He was born March 4, 1955, in Alva to Verda Elizabeth Holt and Robert Wayne Smith and died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at Integris Bass Hospital, Okla-homa City.
He attended Alva schools, graduating in 1973. He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University and received his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State Uni-versity. Following college he became a lobbyist in the state Legislature. He was a National Stonewall Democrats board member and chair of the personnel committee. He was awarded the Angie Debo Civil Libertarian of the Year Award in 2003, the Margaret Sanger Legacy Award in 2003, the Making Democracy Work award in 1999, the Ron Schafer Memorial Award in 1991, the sixth annual GALA Award for Outstanding Man of the Year in 1990, and the second annual Bill Rogers Award of Merit in 1988. He attended the Church of Christ.
Surviving are his mother, Verda Smith Murrow of Alva, and three brothers, Craig of Sedalia, Colo., his twin brother Kurt of Bozeman, Mont., and Kyle of Alva.
He was preceded in death by his father.

PEARL ELLA LILLY

She was born June 20, 1948, in Calvert, Texas, to Andrew L. Sr. and Anna A. Slayten-Hodge Lawrence and died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She grew up in Calvert and attended W.D. Spigner school. She was a member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church. She moved with her family to Enid in 1959, where she attended Carver Elementary School, Emerson Junior High School and graduated from Enid High School in 1966.
She attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University at Alva and was a certified nurse aide and a certified med tech. She was a member of St. Stephens AME Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the YPD department, was a youth class leader and a member of the usher board and the Minnie A. Haynes Missionary Society. She also attended Holy Tabernacle of Praise in Lubbock, Texas.
Surviving are three children, Andrew Graves of Enid, Tara Graves of Edmond and Trev Lawrence of Silverdale, Wash.; two sisters, Maudell Graves and Bonell Fields, both of Enid; two brothers, Andrew L. Lawrence Jr. of Enid and Johnny B. Lawrence of Perry; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
DORIS ALRENE MORRISON GRINSTEAD
The funeral for Doris Alrene Morrison Grinstead, 82, of Fairview, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fairview Assembly of God Church, Fairview. The Rev. Jim Veal will officiate. She was born Dec. 21, 1923, in Altus to Irving and Exie Mae Coe Morrison and died Wednes-day, Nov. 22, 2006, at Fairview Regional Medical Center.
She attended Woodward schools.
She married James Wilford Grinstead Feb. 16, 1942, in Watonga. They made their home in Southard. Following her husband’s discharge from the Army Air Corps they moved to Wichita, Kan., where she assembled Cessna and Beach aircraft. They moved to Fairview in 1974 where she was a child care provider and a caregiver. She was a member of Fairview Assembly of God Church and worked in the nursery.
She is survived by one brother-in-law and a sister-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James, and one sister.

ARTHUR LE ROY FRY
The funeral for Arthur Le Roy Fry, 82, of Omega, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Federated Church, Kingfisher. The Rev. Charlie Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Kingfisher Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service Inc., Kingfisher.
He was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Omega to Hoyt and Margaret Taylor Fry and died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at Mercy Health Center, Oklahoma City.
He lived most of his life in Omega where he attended Sunnydale and Omega schools and graduated from Omega High School in 1942. He enlisted in the Army in 1944, serving during World War II in the South Pacific Theater, Hawaii, Guam, Philippine Islands and Okinawa. He was discharged in 1946 and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He married Evelyn Bernhardt Dec. 27, 1949, in Kingfisher. He drove a school bus for 38 years for Omega and Lomega schools, retiring in 1985. He was a farmer and rancher and did custom hay hauling for more than 40 years. He was a member of Federated Church and served on the official board.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn of the home; one son, Ronnie L. Fry; one daughter, Kay Lavelle Fry Province; three grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

ALICE MARGARET O’HAIR
The funeral for Alice Margaret O’Hair, 96, of Laverne, will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church, Laverne. The Rev. Wes Peterman will officiate. Burial will be in Laverne Memorial Cemetery, Laverne. Arrange-ments are by Myatt-Seeger Funeral Home, Laverne.
She was born April 6, 1910, on the family farm in the Catesby community in Ellis County and died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at Harper County Community Hospital, Buffalo.
She attended Sunny Slope School in Catesby and was a bookkeeper and homemaker. She was a member of Laverne Golf and Country Club and the Panhandle Bowling Lanes.
She married Patrick Henry O’Hair June 20, 1928, in Arnett. He died Aug. 8, 1994.
Surviving are two sons, Claude O’Hair of Laverne and Troy O’Hair of Alva; one daughter, Betty Breon of Laverne; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren
In addition to her husband, Patrick, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

CARL J. AVERY
Funeral services for Carl J. Avery, 77, of Enid will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at Oakwood Christian Church. Rev. Jon Larsen will officiate. Burial will be in Covington Cemetery, Covington, OK. Arrangements are made by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Carl was born May 28, 1929, in Lucien, OK to Joseph Mack and Cecile (McGlassen) Avery and died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at his home.
He at-tended school at Hayward and graduated from Gar-ber High School. He attended Oklahoma A&M; (OSU) in Stillwater, OK where he met Lula Arthur (Lou). They were married May 26, 1952. They had two children.
He was drafted into the Army in the fall of 1952 and received basic training at Camp Roberts, CA. Then he was stationed at Ladd Field, Fairbanks, Alaska for the remainder of his duty.
He owned and operated Avery Grain Co. in the late 1950s and 60s. The family made their home in North Enid. Carl served on the board of education for the Chisholm School System for many years. Later he owned and operated Northwest Housing. He also served on the board for Hedges Speech and Hearing Center. Carl was a financial planner for American Express (presently Ameriprise) from 1985 until he retired in 2000. He was a member of the Noon AMBUCS.
He is survived by his wife, Lou of the home; two children Rene Avery of Tulsa and Jeff Avery of Skiatook; two grandsons Eric and Grant Robison of Tulsa; his mother, Cecile Avery of Enid; two half-sisters, Myrtle Covington of Holdenville and Edna Combs of Fresno, CA; three sisters, Jeann Dwyer of Enid, Lorene Smith and husband Chuck of Perry, Bertha Staerkel and husband Aaron of Enid; three brothers, Bobby Avery and his wife Ruth of Covington, Connie Avery and wife Mary Ann of Ponca City, Don Avery and fiancé Tammy Wakefield of Ponca City.
He was preceded in death by twin daughters, Mindy and Cindy; father Joseph Mack Avery; one sister Norma McMartin; two half-brothers Earl Avery and N.M. Avery.
