ELLEN LOUISE CLARK

A graveside service for Ellen Louise Clark, 66, formerly of Enid, will be 2 p.m. today in Enid Cemetery. Leo Max Deffenbaugh will officiate. Arrangements are by Schaudt’s Glenpool Funeral Service and Cre-mation Care, Glenpool.

She was born Nov. 18, 1938, in Meeker, Colo., to Leo Deffenbaugh and Wilma Tinder Deffenbaugh and died Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Glenpool Health Care Center, Glenpool.

She moved to Glenpool from Saginaw, Texas, two years ago.

Surviving are two sons, Bill Vickers of Haslett, Texas, and Bob Vickers of Warrensburg, Mo.; two daughters, Cindy Cambra of Glenpool and Lindy Hannebaum of Saginaw; two brothers, David Deffenbaugh of Texas and Max Deffenbaugh of Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.





TRESSIE L. MCDANIEL

A graveside service for Tressie L. McDaniel, 94, of Muskogee, formerly of Wood-ward, will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward. The Rev. Jim Steenbergen will officiate. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home, Woodward.

She was born July 22, 1911, in Leslie, Ark., to William Franklin and Byrd Victoria Presley Treece and died Thursday, March 9, 2006, in Eastgate Village, Muskogee.

She was raised and attended school in Fort Smith, Ark., graduating from St. Mary’s Catholic School. She worked at Wortz Biscuit Factory in Fort Smith after graduation.

She married Arthur Pickle.

She married Delmas McDaniel Dec. 7, 1945, in Indiana. They made their home in Woodward. He died in 1977. She worked as a seamstress at Trego’s Westernwear until her retirement. In 1991 she moved to Muskogee. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Woodward.

Surviving are three sons, Duane Pickle of Muskogee, Arthur B. Pickle of Fairfield, Calif., and Alan McDaniel of Guymon; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to two husbands, she was preceded in death by one daughter and two sisters.

CHRISTA YVONNE NORWOOD STARR

The wake for Christa Yvonne Norwood Starr, 33, of El Reno, will be 8 p.m. Sunday at Indian Baptist Church. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Kingfisher. Burial will be in Kingfisher Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service Inc., Kingfisher.

She was born Aug. 15, 1972, in Kingfisher to Leslie and Dena Starr Norwood and died Sunday, March 5, 2006, in El Reno.

She was raised and educated in Kingfisher. She completed training in SOR, ACE, alcohol compliance evaluation, CPR/AED and CLEET 1 and 2 training. She worked at Lucky Star Casino, El Reno.

Surviving are her children, Courtney D. Starr, Preston D. Starr, Brittnay A. Diaz and Frnando M. Diaz Jr., all of the home; her mother, Dena Nor-wood Starr of Kingfisher; one sister, Lynn Starr of Del City; and one brother, Joseph Starr of El Reno.

She was preceded in death by her father.





PATRICIA JEAN ROHRS

The funeral for Patricia Jean Rohrs, 72, of Lamont, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Alan Sei-bel will officiate. A private family burial will be in Lamont Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 11, 1934, in Enid to John Barney and Evangeline Dimick Roberts and died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She graduated from Enid High School in 1953.

She married Arthur Rohrs Oct. 23, 1953. She worked in the food service department at Northern Oklahoma College, Tonkawa, for 19 years.

Surviving are her mother, Evangeline Taylor of Enid; her former husband Arthur Rohrs of Florida; three daughters, Pamela Denlinger of Bellvue, Colo., Tracy Peck of Hunter and Janet Berry of Tulsa; two sons, John Rohrs of Lamont and Jeff Rohrs of Arkansas City, Kan.; three sisters, Linda Gillette of Moore, Joan Kendall of Lone Grove and Cheri McGrath of Enid; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, one sister and one granddaughter.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Northern Oklahoma College.

HELEN IRENE MORRISON

Funeral services for Helen Irene Morrison, 79, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Pastor Carl Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. today in the Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Helen was born Dec. 4, 1926, in Enid to Wylie Steven and Clarice Irene Ramsey Sidwell and went to be with her Lord Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She graduated from Enid High School with the Class of 1945.

She married Jay Morrison Dec. 21, 1946, in Enid. She and Jay worked together in their business, Morrison Flooring. Helen touched many lives with her faith and was very active in her church, Harvest Time Worship Center. She was an avid gardener and seamstress.

She is survived by her husband, Jay; sons, Dennis and wife Susan Morrison of North Canton, Ohio, and Craig Morrison of Enid; daughters, Donna Kay and husband Dennis Baker of McKinney, Texas, and Janet and husband John Arnold of Tulsa; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made in her name to the Legacy Tree Program, sponsored by Main Street Enid, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.

SUE C. GURWELL

Sue C. Gurwell, formerly of Enid, passed away in Lakewood, CO, on Saturday, March 4, 2006. She was 76.

Survivors include her son, Bill Price and his wife Pam; grandson, Paul Price and his wife, Jenie; granddaughter, Jill Price; and great-granddaughters, Shelbie Price and Kylie Price, all of Kemmerer, Wyo.

Also her brother, Tex Milchan and his wife Lita, formerly of Enid, now of Lakewood, CO; and nieces, Monique Roberts of Littleton, CO, and Suzanne Best of Jamaica Plain, MA.

She lived in Enid over 40 years. She retired from Champlin Petroleum, owned The Liquor Store, and did volunteer work at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center and was a member at Central Christian Church, the Moose Lodge and Enid Senior Citizens.

Husbands Gene Champlin and Hugh Gurwell preceded her in death, as did her parents, Pare’l and Frances Milchan.

Sue’s last words to her brother were “Tell everyone I love them!”

HARRY ECK

The funeral service for Harry Eck, 101 year-old Meno resident, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006, in New Hopedale Mennonite Church. Pastor James K. Suderman will officiate. Burial will follow in New Hopedale Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

Harry was born Aug. 30, 1904, in Meno to Henry Eck and Eva (Koehn) Eck and died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, in Golden Oaks Nursing Home.

He attended Cozy Palace Country School in Meno.

On March 11, 1934, he married Edna Mernie Bergdall on her parent’s farm south of Meno. The couple made their home in Meno. In 1944, they moved to Helena where they continued to farm. They returned to Meno in 1968.

He was a member of New Hopedale Mennonite Church where he was a caretaker of the church cemetery for over 30 years. He was a farmer, bricklayer, and carpenter. Beginning in 1968, he was custodian for Meno and OBA schools.

He is survived by three children, Shirley Campell and husband Delmar of Wichita, Kan., Lavina Bull and husband John of Houston, Texas, and Marvin Eck and wife Barbara of Bartlesville; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lindy Eck of Enid; four sisters, Kathryn Luscombe of Helena, Mabel Buller of Goltry, Clarabell Buller of Enid, and Ella Frantz of Fairview.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, his parents, and seven brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be made to the church through the funeral home.
