GEORGIA ROSE NORMAN

The funeral for Georgia Rose Norman, 94, of Fort Supply, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, at Fort Supply United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Good Samaritan Funeral Service, Woodward.

She was born Dec. 29, 1910, in Ellis County to Arthur J. and Sarah (Brant) Smith, and died Oct. 4, 2005, at Crystalwood Village.

She grew up west of Fort Supply and attended North Star country school and later Fort Supply schools.

She was a homemaker. She also was active with the Kitchen Klunker Band, playing the washboard.

She married Robert Norman, July 22, 1930. They lived and farmed west of Fort Supply. He died in 1972. Georgia continued to live on the farm until 1998.

Surviving are two daughters, Frances Mitchell of Woodward; Ruby Fleming of Shattuck; two sons, Bobby Norman and John Norman both of Fort Supply; 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by one daughter, one brother, three sisters and one grandson.



DOLORES ELEANOR OSBORN

A memorial service for Dolores Eleanor Osborn, 80, Stamford, Conn., formerly of Goltry, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, at Karoma Cemetery southeast of Goltry. The Rev. Gene Edmonds will officiate. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena.

She was born March 25, 1925, in Goltry to Elsie and Emil Streich and died May 17, 2005, at St. Camillus Health Center in Stamford.

She graduated from Goltry High School and Oklahoma State University. She was a school teacher.

She also was the organist for the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Westminster, Colo., before moving to Stamford in 2000.

She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca and Tiani Osborn; two brothers, Merle Streich of Ephrata, Penn. and Terry Streich, of Goltry; and two grandchildren.



JOHN R. SNEAD JR.

The funeral for John R. Snead Jr., 89, of Hardtner, Kan., will be 3 p.m., Friday, at United Methodist Church in Hardtner. Elizabeth Kirkwood, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Hardtner-Elwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Kiowa, Kan. Visitation will be today, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday, 10 a.m. to noon, at the funeral home and at the church before service.

He was born Aug. 2, 1916, in Danville, Kan., to John R. Snead Sr. and Nellie May Morgan Snead, and died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at Kiowa Hospital District Manor.

He was raised in Kiowa and graduated from high school. He worked at Wallingford Grain as a grain elevator operator for 20 years. He owned a small engine repair shop. He also was the Hardtner fire chief for many years and a member of Hardtner Senior Citizens. He was a member of United Methodist Church.

He married Iris Lorene Ross on Aug. 19, 1940. She died in 2002.

Surviving are one daughter, Roxie Blunk, Kiowa; one sister, Helen Humphrey, of Bronson, Kan.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Iris, he was preceded in death by one brother.

MARY L. STRAUHS

A graveside service for Mary L. Strauhs, 79, of Blackwell, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at Blackwell Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Johnson will officiate. Arrange-ments are by Dugger Funeral Home, Blackwell.

She was born May 15, 1926, to Robert M. and Fannie Chandler Akin, in Caddo and died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

She was a custodian with First National Bank and later with Central National Bank.

She married Carl E. Strauhs June 28, 1975.

Surviving are her husband Carl; three sons, Charles Quinlan of Blackwell, Bruce Strauhs of Tulsa and Bob Quinlan of Las Vegas; three daughters, Virginia Bradley and Debbie Whicker, both of Blackwell, and Beverly Kensley of New Tripoli, Penn.; one sister, Jane Colburn of Blackwell; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, three sisters and three brothers.

GLEN WOODROW CROUCH

The funeral for Glen Woodrow Crouch, 90, of Buffalo, will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church. The Rev. Mike Barnett will officiate. Burial will be in High Point Cemetery, Buffalo. Arrange-ments are by Myatt Funeral Home, Buffalo. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday

He was born in Woodward to George W. and Amy Garrett Crouch and died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005 at Woodward Regional Hospital.

He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1934. He was a member of First Christian Church. He served as president of the Buffalo Horse Show and president and secretary of Buffalo Roping Club. He was a retired rancher.

He married Inez Christine Abercrombie, on Dec. 24, 1937, in Buffalo.

Surviving are his wife Inez, Buffalo; one son, George D. Crouch of Buffalo; two daughters, Glenda A. Ramsey of Atlantic, Iowa, and Joyce L. Lake of Buffalo; one sister, Cleo Rude of Enid; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-stepgrandchild.

He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter and three sisters.

Debra was born on April 18, 1965 inEnid, the daughter of Bobby and Alice Jones Carter, and died Monday, October 3rd, 2005 at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. She was raised and educated in Enid, graduating fromEnid High School with the class of 1983. Debra is survived by her husband Don Voelzke; two daughters, Faith Marie Voelzke and Whitney Daniel Voelzke, her father, BobbyCarter of Enid, a sister, Shelly Goodwin, a brother Douglas Carter of Midwest City, Oklahoma. Debra was preceded in death by her mother.

FLORENCE OHLER

Our loving mother, Florence Ohler, passed away Sunday October 2, 2005 at the Living Center. She has gone to be with the Lord after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

Graveside services will be Friday, October 7, 2005 at the Enid Cemetery. Rev. Stanly Jenkins will officiate. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born in Polk, NE onJuly 10, 1912 to Charles and Sarah Reeves. She moved with her family to Enid as a teenager. She married Walter Hess onOctober 30, 1930. Four children were born of this union. During her life she has out lived four loving husbands. She moved to Tacoma, WA where she lived many years, and she always said it was God’s country. She returned to Enid in 1990.

She is survived by her daughters: LaVonne Wilhoit and husband Joe of Enid, and Louise Reeves of Paducah,KY. Three grandchildren, William Wilhoit of Enid, Marsha Prager of Tacoma, WA and Cheryel Matthews of Paducah, KY. Eleven great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Ohler, two young children: Carolyn and Walter Hess, Jr, her parents, a brother Leonard; sisters: Esther, Lela, and Martha; and her son-in-law Pat Reeves.

She was a warm and loving person. Always there with a helping hand for anyone in need. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. Avery special person who will be truly missed by all. (Paid Obit 10-6-1)



ADRIAN KRUSE

Funeral services for Adrian Kruse, 88, Enid, will be Friday, October 7th, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in Bible Baptist Church with Reverend Terry A. Chick officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the V.F.W., Local #2270.

Adrian was born onAugust 11th, 1917 in Beaver County, Oklahoma, the son of George and Allie Handle Kruse, and died Monday, October 3rd, 2005 at Integris Bass Pavilion. He grew up and attended school in Beaver County. Adrian enlisted in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945 with rank of private. He moved to Enid in 1945.Adrian married Phoebe Vanhoozer on October 11, 1946 in Vinita, Oklahoma. Phoebe died on January 4, 1994. He attended A & M Tech Television Repair School in Okmulgee.Adrian worked for Klingenberg and company, a television repair service for fourteen years. Adrian was an active member of Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include Dale Kruse of Hillsdale, Mark and wife Martha Harris of Enid, Annette Baker of Enid, friends, Sheryl Chodrick, Mary, Jerry Chodrick and Carol Kline. In addition to his wife, Phoebe, Adrian was preceded in death by his parents. ARCHIE JOHNSON

The funeral for Archie Johnson, 95 will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday October 8, 2005 in the New Hopedale Mennonite Church, Meno, Oklahoma, the Rev. James Suderman officiating. Burial will be in the New Hopedale Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home, Enid.

He was born Aug. 31, 1910 in Goltry, Okla. to Benjamin and Victoria Unruh Johnson and died Sunday Oct. 2, 2005 at the Villa Manor Care Center, Lakewood,CO.

He and Anna Unruh Johnson were married onMarch 22, 1934. In their sixty-one years of marriage, Archie and Anna resided in the Meno, Oklahoma area. He lived and worked on the farm until 1957 and then moved to the town of Meno. He then continued his employment working for Singer Metal Company and The Enid Foundry until his retirement in 1981. He enjoyed the outdoors fishing with grandchildren and taking much pride working in his large garden.

Surviving are three sons, Robert Johnson and wife Myrna of Lakewood, CO, Dennis Johnson and wife Jolene, and Merlyn Johnson and wife Jan of Greeley, CO; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna, one sister, one brother and two grandsons. Friends may visit from 7-9 p.m. at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home, Enid on Friday Oct. 7th.

JOHNNIE HAY GOODEN

The funeral service for Johnnie Hay Gooden, 89-year-old Ames resident will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2005 in the Ames Baptist Church. The Rev. John Edwards and Rev. Jim Nance will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ames Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-AllenFuneral Home. She was born on October 23, 1915 in Jackson County,Oklahoma to John C. Collier and Mary J. (Sampler) Collier and died Monday, October 3, 2005 in Okeene Hospital.

She attended schools inJackson county. On February 24, 1940 she married Raymon Gooden in Watonga, OK. The couple made their home in Ames where Raymon farmed, cut and sold wood, and numerous jobs as well as retiring from Farmers Elevator in Ames, while Johnnie made their house into a home.

She loved to cook, garden, and enjoyed making quilts and bonnets. She was a member of the Parker Chapel ChristianUnion Church and attended the Ames Baptist Church. She was a member of the Good Cheer Club as well as the Rebecca Lodge.

She is survived by her three daughters, Karen Suit and her husband Jack, of Longdale, OK; Janis Stubbs and her husband Larry, of Houston, TX; and Marsha Norris and her husband Larry, of Ames, OK; six grandchildren, Raymon A. Wilson, of Hennessey; Jimmy D. Wilson and wife Amber of Enid, Kenneth E. Wilson of Kansas, Curtis D. Wilson and wife Kristi of Maize, KS, Scott Norris and wife Verlinda, of Collinsville, OK and Amber Cantrell of Houston, TX, ten great-grandchildren, and one brother, Bert Collier and wife Jean’e of Needles, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymon in 1996, three half-sisters and three half-brothers.
