ENID —
Mass of Christian burial for Leroy G. Doerfler will be celebrated at 12 noon Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Irwin as celebrant. Burial will be in Garber Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary will be 6:30 p.m. today, Feb. 10, 2013, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, with visitation to follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Leroy was born Feb. 3, 1932, to Constance and Victoria Stressler Doerfler in Hays, Kan., and passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, in Enid, Okla.
He moved to Enid at age 7 and attended grade school at a country school east of Enid. He attended St. Joseph Catholic High School, completing his junior year, and then moved to the Garber-Covington oil field, when his dad was transferred, and graduated from Covington High School in 1950.
He attended Oklahoma A&M College for two years, then joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1956.
After his military service, he was employed by Champlin Petroleum Co. for 24 years. After closing the Champlin Plant, he was then employed by Northrop Grumman for 16 years as a fire inspector with the fire department.
Leroy was a lifetime member of the VFW, Enid Moose Lodge and American Legion. He loved to hunt and fish and be outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Mitch and wife Angie and grandson Alex; son, Chris and wife Janna and grandson Cody; daughter, Vicki Doerfler, all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; stepchildren, Phillip, Stephen and Stephanie Semrad; stepgrandchildren, Megan Ellis, Daniel Semrad of Enid, Oliver and Simon Semrad of Katy, Texas; stepgreat-grandchildren, Jaryn and Jayce Ellis; sisters, Doris Chapman, Flora Kusch and Sherrie Bentz of Enid, and Wanda Avery of Oklahoma City; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Petie.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Connie Donaldson.

Teresa "Terry" Rae Bennett
Teresa “Terry” Rae Bennett, 55, was the daughter of Elvin and Darla June Horne Zeman. She was born Sept. 27, 1957, in Enid and was baptized April 13, 1958, at United Methodist Church, Medford. She went to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, while at her home.
She graduated from Medford High School in 1975. After graduation, she worked various jobs in her younger years.
She married Steve Bennett Oct. 17, 1990. They settled and made their home in Medford.
Teresa worked 10-plus years for the Grant County Health Department as a health care giver.
In 2007, she became a homemaker, helping her husband with the family farm and business. Teresa enjoyed shopping with her mother, gardening, making crafts, fishing, traveling, watching car and horse races, going to the farm to see her cats and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed her time with friends and living life to the fullest. -
John William Taylor
Funeral service for John William Taylor, 85, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. today, June 20, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Randy Mitchell Officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
John was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Enid, and was the only child of William and Nellie Ratcliff Taylor and passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, at his home.
After graduating from Enid High School in 1944, at the age of 16, he briefly attended Phillips University.
Shortly thereafter, John enlisted in the Air Force, because of his lifelong love of flying. He served as a staff sergeant in Guam.
Prior to his deployment, he met and started courting his future wife, Sue Hackleman, of Stillwater, after meeting at the swimming pool in Green Mountain Falls, Colo. They married six years later on June 5, 1950, in Stillwater. After being discharged, John attended Oklahoma A&M until he returned to Enid to help run the Enid Publishing Co., where he served as president and owner until 1989. He also was owner of KCRC-KNID radio stations and Enid Two-Way. -
Terry Wayne Cullins

Terry was born March 15, 1959, to Jean and Tip Cullins and died Sunday, June 16, 2013, at his home.
Terry worked as a truck driver, taking long transports all over the country for weeks at a time. -
Jeffrey L. Wiggins
Service for Jeffrey Wiggins, 59, of Kremlin, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Chapel. Burial in Kremlin Cemetery.
Jeffrey was born Sept. 21, 1953, in Enid, Okla., to Donald and Vada (Valtr) Wiggins and died Monday, June 17, 2013, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid.
He married Debbie Readnour April 26, 1975, in Alva. -
Velva Mae Hawk
Funeral for Velva Hawk, 91, of Enid, will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with family is 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Velva was born July 6, 1921, in Ames, Okla., to Everett and Julie Brittain and died Monday, June 17, 2013.
Surviving are children, Larry Hawk, Linda Grimm and Gene Hawk; six grandchildren, Craig, Kimber, Deidre, Stacie, Terry and Kevin; sisters, Aileen Crawford and Dorothy Skalenda; and 10 great-grandchildren. -
Zelma Mae Sullivan
Zelma Mae Sullivan went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the age of 92, in Perry, Okla.

Norma was born Dec. 6, 1941, in Helena, Okla., the daughter of John and Ruby (Love) Ging and died Monday, June 17, 2013, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
Surviving are husband, Jim of the home; son, Jimmie of the home; daughter, Jennifer Hoskins of Enid; two granddaughters, Tapanga and Cheyenne Martin of Enid; one sister; and one brother, Mat Ging. -
