ENID, Okla. —
Funeral for William G. “Bill” Foster, 86, of Nash, Okla., will be 10 a.m. today, Jan. 22, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Nash. Rev. Sam Farris and Rev. Bob Smith will officiate the service. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery, Nash. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.
Bill was born June 3, 1926, south of Nash to Gertrude (Bailey) and Glen Foster and passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at his home.
He was a 1944 graduate of Nash High School.
Upon graduation, he joined the Coast Guard through the Maritime Service, where he served 18 months on four ships in the Pacific, Atlantic and Mediterranean during World War II. After the war, he came home to find and marry the love of his life, Billie Louise McIntosh. They were married Oct. 10, 1948, and were blessed with three daughters, Deborah, Diana and Denise.
After several years of farming, he purchased a school bus in 1952 and started hauling children to school. In 1969, he became the custodian for Jet-Nash Public Schools. Two years later, Billie joined him as they worked side by side until retirement in 1993. During his employment with Nash and Jet-Nash Public Schools, he positively impacted the lives of three generations of children, driving the route bus, activity bus and keeping the score books at the sporting events. He then went on to drive the school bus for Hillsdale Christian School for 11 years. After 50 years of driving the school bus, he was recognized by the state of Oklahoma for his dedication.
Bill was a member of First Baptist Church of Nash, where he served as deacon since 1951.
He proudly served on the Grant County Draft Board in the 1970s.
Bill was dearly loved by many and is survived by his wife, Billie of the home; three daughters, Deborah and Chuck Carson of Nash, Diana and Gary Madison of Fairfax, and Denise and Kevin Wilson of Edmond; his grandchildren, Shane and Amber Green of Jet, Brandi and Byron Dell of Nash, J.J. and Sarah Green of Nash, Kristel and Ryan Steel of Stillwater, Ryan Madison and Keli Mashburn of Fairfax, Casey and Mat Beartrack of Fairfax, Lance and Trista Madison of Fairfax, McCall Wilson of Edmond, and Graham Wilson of Edmond; his great-grandchildren, Brock, Braden and Braxton Buller of Jet, Chezney and Cade Dell of Nash, Natalee, Hesston and Paizley Green of Nash, Savannah Steele of Stillwater, and Cadence and Macey Beartrack of Fairfax.
