Travis went on to work 30 years for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife as a fish technician, with the majority of the time spent at Byron State Fish Hatchery. After he “retired,” he enjoyed farming and raising cattle.

In 1967, Travis married Ellen Myers and adopted her two children. Travis and Ellen later had two other sons.

Travis was later blessed to marry Nita Pelter on Dec. 5, 1987, in Cherokee, Okla.
