FAIRVIEW — The memorial service for Clarence “C.A.” Alton Pettitt, 63, of Fairview, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Chapel. The Rev. David Mendenhall will officiate.

He was born Dec. 4, 1946, in Amarillo, Texas, to Clarence Alton and Doris Fae Shafer Pettitt and died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Fairview Fellowship Home.

He lived in Spearman, Texas, until age 3, when he moved with his mother to Fairview. He later moved with his mother and stepfather to Southgate, Calif., where he graduated from Whitney High School in Los Angeles. He attended two years at Cerritos Community College. He was trained and certified as an armed security guard and worked for the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. He also worked for banks in the area.

He married Deanna Miller June 10, 1978, in Pasadena, Calif. She died Dec. 30, 2005.

He retired in December 2008 and moved to Fairview Jan. 1, 2009. He was active in Lakewood Avenue Congregation Church in California.

Surviving are his mother, Doris McKinnis; one stepson, Stephen of California; and one stepbrother, Jerry McKinnis of Las Vegas.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research, cancer division.
