A Friday night collision in Kingfisher County claimed the life of an Okarche man.
According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol collision report, 18-year-old Lee Thomas Brueggen was driving a 2006 Chevrolet pickup east on a county road two miles north and one mile west of Okarche at about 11:55 p.m. Friday.
The OHP report stated Brueggen’s vehicle traveled over an elevated portion of the roadway, Brueggen lost control and the vehicle departed the north edge of the roadway, rolled three times, went through a fence, came to rest on its wheels and then caught fire.
Brueggen reportedly was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
Brueggen died at the scene of the accident, according to the OHP report, and was transported to Sanders Funeral Home in Kingfisher.
The OHP report lists the cause of collision as “unsafe speed for type of roadway.”
