Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse is offering free admission today. The science museum is open 1-5 p.m.
“This isn’t something we planned as part of our annual 100 days of Summer Fun, said Julie Baird, Leonardo’s executive director, “but it is unsafe to be outdoors for very long, so we wanted to provide a cool family friendly alternative.”
The free one-day admission offers hands-on fun in the art studio, carpentry shop, market place, costume area, tot lot and other exhibits. Those attending also can see Leonardo’s animals, including chinchillas, ferrets, snakes and hedgehogs.
Adventure Quest, the outdoor science playground, will be open as usual Sunday, provided the temperature does not exceed 105 degrees. Guests are encouraged to bring plenty of ice water to drink when visiting Adventure Quest and to limit outdoor playtime to no more than 15 minutes at a time.
Limited spots still are available for the final two weeks of Camp Leonardo’s, the museum’s summer camp for students ages 4-12. Camp Leonardo’s is made possible in part by a grant from Oklahoma Arts Council and National Endowment
For information about upcoming events at Leonardo’s, go to www.leonardos.org or call 233-2787.
