ENID, Okla. —
Maxine Austin, Enid civic leader for more than 50 years, died Wednesday night at age 102.
Austin was active in many local organizations, including Main Street Enid, and was a well-known local poet.
Former Main Street Director Lindy Chambers recalled Austin as a “dynamo.”
“She took on everything with enthusiasm, kindness and joy,” Chambers said.
Services are pending with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
