Garfield County Genealogists
to meet Saturday at library
Garfield County Genealogists Inc. will meet at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Great Plains Room, second floor of the Public Library of Enid and Garfield County.
In keeping with Presidents Month, Laquetha Young of Oklahoma City will be the speaker and present a portrayal of Martha Washington, the wife of the first president of the United States.
Hennessey Hootenanny
scheduled for Saturday
The second hootenanny of the season is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Hennessey Public Library auditorium, 525 S. Main.
Open mic begins at 6:30, with Sherri Bush Wall and Larry Darnell. Jimmy Berkenbile will be the emcee.
The lineup for the show includes Jarod Cross of Okeene, Kailyn Jolliff of Mustang, Seth Ebers of Hennessey, Peyton Yeoman of Kingfisher, and Buck Goucher of Hennessey.
Refreshments will be served during intermission by the Hennessey Lioness Club.
Admission is $4 for adults and $1 for children ages 6-12. Proceeds will benefit Hennnessey United.

Charles R. Robinson book
signings slated for Friday
Three book signings have been scheduled for local author Charles R. Robinson for his latest book “Punching the Sun.”
Robinson will sign books 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Ruth’s Christian Bookstore at Oakwood Mall; 1-3 p.m. March 16 at Hastings, 610 S. Cleveland; and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 23 at Enid Christian Book Store, 610 S. Cleveland.
Robinson is a resident of Waukomis and a retired Army warrant officer.
He currently is the director of Servants of the Savior International Ministries.
He and his family did mission work in Mexico, Nicaragua and Nigeria from 1993-2009. From 1996-2006, he helped build and then taught at The Way of the Cross Bible College in Aldama, Mexico.
“Punching the Sun” is about running the race of life and finishing victoriously to enter the presence of God.
Enid Square Dance Group
to hold dance on Sunday
The Enid Square Dance Group will hold a dance 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Old Santa Fe Depot, 202 W. Walnut.
Larry McClain will be the caller. No experience is required. Bring a dance partner, and kids always are welcome.
