Siding fire causes no damage to house
Discarded ashes caught some siding on fire early Thursday, but there was no structural damage to a house at 1415 W. Broadway.
Enid Fire Department Capt. Curtis Howard said a bag of ashes and coals from a cookout the previous evening were placed in a plastic bag on the front porch against the siding.
The bag sat on the porch all night and eventually got underneath the siding and caught fire.
There appears to be only exterior wood siding to be replaced and no serious damage to the house, Howard said. All three occupants of the house went outside, and there were no injuries.
The house is equipped with smoke detectors, but apparently one of the occupants smelled the smoke before the detectors sounded.
Firefighters estimated the value of the house at $80,000 and damage at $2,500.

They will discuss the after-prom plans and make decisions for the upcoming prom. Anyone interested in helping is welcome to attend.Ԁ
