ENID, Okla. —
As required by law, Enid Police Department is notifying the public about an aggravated sex offender who has moved in Enid.
EPD was notified by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections that Michael Clark has been classified as an aggravated sex offender. Whenever a sex offender classified as aggravated or habitual moves into a residence, the police department is required by state statute to notify residents of the neighborhood.
There are eight possible offenses that can require a person be classified as an aggravated sex offender, if they were convicted after Nov. 1, 1999. Habitual offenders are those offenders convicted of two or more sex crimes after Nov. 1, 1997, or those previously convicted with another sex offense conviction after Nov. 1, 1997.
Clark was convicted of second-degree rape March 8, 2006, in Garfield County. Clark is not wanted for any crimes and he has registered as a sex offender with the Enid Police Department.
Clark is a white male, 30 years old, is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 165 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. He resides at 506 S. Pierce in Enid, but will be required to move. He recently was discharged from prison.
