Man wrecks cycle while fleeing OHP


An Edmond man was injured at 11:05 p.m. Monday after he wrecked his motorcycle in King-fisher County while apparently running from an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper.

According to an OHP report, Scott Daniel Johnson, 24, was taken to Kingfisher Regional Hos-pital with arm and leg injuries. He was listed in good condition.

The accident happened at the intersection of U.S. 81 and Grant Terrace in Dover.

According to the report, the trooper saw Johnson riding his 2003 Honda motorcycle at a high rate of speed south on U.S. 81. When the trooper caught up with Johnson and activated his lights, Johnson sped off, according to the report.

He went about one-eighth of a mile before losing control of his motorcycle, according to the report. Johnson fled on foot and was caught about 20 minutes later, according to the report.
