ENID, Okla. —
A man wanted in connection to a Thursday night shooting turned himself in Friday morning, police said.
Jeremy Jenkins, also known as Jeremy Smart, turned himself in and is in police custody, Sgt. Dustin Albright said.
Police were seeking Jenkins, 24, after he allegedly shot another man in a scuffle late Thursday night. Police say Jenkins confronted Jeffery Holt, 33, at 1510 E. Broadway “and a scuffle ensued.” Police say Jenkins shot Holt in the face and fled the scene.
Holt was transported to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and later transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. His injuries, according to police, are not believed to be life-threatening.
The type of weapon used in the shooting is not known, according to police. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Jenkins on a complaint of shooting with intent to kill, or in the alternative, assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
Police searched a creek bed south of Sunset Plaza Friday afternoon searching for evidence related to the shooting. Police searched for several hours and drained a portion of the creek. They did not recover anything.
Online court records show the warrant for the felony charge was issued Friday without bond.
