ENID, Okla. —
Those attending the Sherry Ann Suttmiller “SAS” Memorial Softball Tournament Saturday have a chance to win hotel and airfare for a three-day trip to Las Vegas.
The trip was donated by the Kyle and Sara Sweet family and includes a stay at the Mandalay Bay Las Vegas at a date chosen by the winner.
This year’s tournament will benefit Enid native Steve Schram, who was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer this May.
In 2010, the “Fight with SAS” tournament was organized to benefit Sherry Suttmiller and her family in her battle with pancreatic cancer.
Before Sherry passed away May 23, she told her husband, EPD Officer Jeff Suttmiller, she wanted the tournament to continue and for the FOP to continue to help people fight cancer.
The tournament is sponsored by the Suttmiller Family, Enid Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 144 and Enid Police Department.
As well as the tournament, there also will be drawings for additional prizes, food baskets and baked goods for sale. The tournament begins at 8 a.m. at Kellet Ballpark, and is a 16-team and double-elimination tournament.
