Rain chances blowing in with cold front this weekend

ENID, Okla. — A cold front will move into northwest Oklahoma late Saturday, bringing cooler temperatures and a chance of rain to the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered storms are expected along the front line as it moves through the state. Chance of rain has been set by NWS meteorologists at 30 percent during the day and 90 percent Saturday night for the Enid area.

Saturday's high is forecasted at 69, but by Sunday the thermometer will stay in the mid-50s, according to NWS.

Today's high is expected to top out this afternoon at around 80. Those warmer temperatures, combined with strong winds, have created a high fire danger for parts of the state, according to NWS. Winds will remain strong throughout the night, with a low of 60, and continue from the south until Sunday, when they switch to the north, according to meteorologists.

Sunday calls for a 30 percent chance of rain, with otherwise partly cloudy skies and gusty northerly winds. Rain chances dwindle Sunday night to 20 percent, and Monday is expected to dawn clear with a high to reach only into the upper-40s that day.
