Road work slated
A portion of Jackson will be closed today on the north side of the intersection with Elm for water line work. The work is expected to take a day to complete.
In addition, east and west access to Van Buren from Elm on will be closed beginning Thursday to allow for water line installation. Work is expected to take about a week.
GOP watch party planned
A Republican watch party will be 7:30-10 p.m. at Oakwood Christian Church, 401 N. Oakwood.
The party will be held in the dining room. The event is sponsored by the Garfield County Republican Party and Garfield County Republican Women.

Campbell Brothers Circus, active from 1889 to 1920, was at one time the second-largest circus in the world. From 1912 to 1920, Campbell Brothers Circus wintered at Drummond.
