Four members of Garfield County Master Gardeners will offer advice on fall gardening Saturday during a workshop at Chisholm Trail Expo Center.
The event will be 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The gardeners who will speak are Kate Morrison, George Milacek, Jeff Bedwell and Marlene Buck.
Morrison will speak about fall vegetable gardens 8:40-9:10 a.m. She is Hope Outreach Faith Farm coordinator and is responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing operations of the new gardens. She has been active with the Master Gardeners since 1991.
Milacek will speak about colorful shrubs and trees 9:10-9:40 a.m. He is head gardener at Dillingham Memorial Gardens at Government Springs Park. His home gardens have been featured on OETA’s “Oklahoma Gardening.” He has served as vice president and president of Garfield County Master Gardeners.
Bedwell will talk 10-10:45 a.m. about tips for fall gardening. He is an agriculture educator at the Garfield County Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service office. He is adviser of the Master Gardeners and co-hosts a gardening radio show Saturdays.
Buck will speak at the workshop 10:50-11:50 a.m. about food from the plant to the plate. She is Garfield County Extension educator, teaching about healthy eating and cooking. A boutique will be open to shop for fall items and to taste Buck’s fall garden recipes.
The workshop includes a light lunch. Cost is $25. Registration forms are available at the extension office, 316 E. Oxford.
