Quilt guild meeting slated Monday

The Cherokee Strip Piecemakers Quilt Guild will meet Monday at Central Christian Church, 1111 W. Broadway. Registration and hospitality are 6-6:30 p.m., with a short business meeting to follow. A demonstration, “Quick Quilt from a Layer Cake Package,” will be presented during hospitality.

The March meeting will feature Cynthia LeBlanc Regone. Cynthia comes to us from her current home in Katy, Texas. Her program, “Too Much Is Never Enough,” addresses the use of multiple fabric combinations, stash builders, and how to make scrap quilts with 75 or more fabrics, and the products available to help quick-piece any quilt project. Cynthia will show many of her scrap quilts and provide a trunk show of quilts depicted in her book “Colorful Quilts — A Journey through Fabric.”

Serving on the board of several state and local guilds in Oklahoma and Texas, Cynthia has been the feature teacher at the 31st Annual National Quilting Association Show and teaches at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas. She has been featured in Fons and Porter magazine Love of Quilting, Quilt Works Today, and Quilting Today magazines. Cynthia continues to lecture and teach throughout the United States, while operating her business and designing under her own quilt pattern label named Cajun Classics.

The mission of the Cherokee Strip Piecemakers is to preserve the heritage and art of quilting, to be a source of information, education, and inspiration, and to be gathering place for people with a common interest. Guests of all skill levels are welcome.
