A Sayre woman was hospitalized Monday after an early morning accident in Blaine County.
Charlene Mary Lumpkin, 63, was admitted in critical condition to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with leg and trunk injuries, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
The accident happened at 6:53 a.m. on U.S. 270 at the intersection with Oklahoma 33.
According to the report, Lumpkin was a passenger in a 2004 Dodge Caravan driven by Vernon Lee Lumpkin, 64, of Sayre. They were heading east on U.S. 270 when a 2005 Dodge truck driven by Edmond Foster Taber Jr., 28, of Quinton, turned in front of them, according to the report. Taber was heading west on U.S. 270 and wanted to turn left onto Oklahoma 33, according to the report.
Taber was not injured. Vernon Lumpkin was treated at Watonga Hospital and released.
