A Kremlin man was hospitalized with injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Boomer and Holden.

Alvin R. Hughes, 53, was admitted in stable condition to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with head injuries, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

Two other people were treated and released.

The accident happened at 4:49 p.m. Thursday.

According to the report, Hughes was driving a 1994 Ford pickup east on Holden when he failed to yield at the intersection and was hit by a 2003 Ford F250 pickup driven by Phil R. Ester, 44, of Carrier. Ester was driving north of Boomer. Hughes and a passenger, Calen J. Hughes, 18, of Kremlin, were ejected on impact, according to the report. Ester’s pickup left the road and hit a wire fence, coming to rest in the east ditch. Hughes’ pickup ended up in the west ditch.

Esther and Calen Hughes were treated at St. Mary’s and released.

Esther was wearing a seat belt, while the other two men were not, according to the report.
