ENID, Okla. —
Enid Animal Control will have an open house and ground-breaking ceremony Saturday for new outdoor runs being built for animals at the facility.
The public is invited to visit the facility 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Animals will be available for adoption. City pet licenses also will be available.
“We want people to come out on the 13th and learn more about their animal control facility,” Chief Brian O’Rourke said. “We invite them to come out and look at the facility.”
The chief said he wants the public to understand the mission of the facility and see the promotion of adoptions and decrease in euthanasia.
The Groom Closet will have a drawing for anyone who adopts a dog or a cat.
Their name will be placed in the drawing for a free year’s supply of dog or cat food.
The Feed Barn will have dog and cat food available Saturday, and Chisholm Trail Broadcasting will be hosting a spot from the facility.
Volunteers will be available to explain the adoption process, give tours of the facility and adopt out animals.
The facility, 1200 S. 10th, is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
