ENID, Okla. —
Silent Witness helps raise domestic violence awareness
Verizon Wireless and Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (OCADVSA) are raising domestic violence awareness through October with the Silent Witness Initiative project.
The project displays will travel across Oklahoma during the month of October in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The tour will stop today at Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid, where it will be open to the public at 8 a.m.
“The Silent Witness Initiative is a national memorial honoring those individuals whose lives were lost by domestic violence,” said Marcia Smith, director of OCADVSA. “Each life-sized red silhouette represents someone who once lived, worked and had friends and family before their life was taken. In turn, we are all affected by domestic violence.”
