ENID — Enid Police Department detectives located a missing Enid teen shortly before noon Thursday after she was reported missing Wednesday.
Destiny Welch, 16, was found at the home of a friend about 11:45 a.m., said Detec-tive Sgt. Dustin Albright. He said the girl had not been injured in the hours she was missing.
“Detectives followed up on a lead developed while actively investigating and were able to locate her at a friend’s house,” he said.
Albright said Detective Nick John developed the lead that led to finding the missing teen.
“He did very good work following up on it and developing that lead,” Albright said.
Welch was reported missing by her mother, Melanie Welch, Wednesday. She said she last saw her daughter Tuesday night and discovered she was gone when she got up for work Wednesday.
“Mom’s very thankful to know she’s OK,” Albright said.
