ENID — Police arrested a 30-year-old Enid man Friday morning after a woman said he broke into her house and attempted to rape her.
Cody E. Schafer, 623 W. Illinois, was arrested on complaints of first-degree burglary and attempted rape.
Enid Police Department Capt. Jack Morris said at 2:49 a.m. officers responded to a call from a home in the 600 block of West Illinois where a 26-year-old woman said she was the victim of a burglary and attempted rape.
“Officer Mike Osgood and Detective Chris Lewis conducted an investigation and found that forced entry had occurred into the victim’s residence, Morris said. “They also determined that the suspect was a person who the victim knew by name.”
Police were able to locate Schafer and place him under arrest.
