Santa is coming to Covington at 7 p.m. Dec. 21 at the fire station. Treats will be given out to the children.
Lions Club is sponsoring several drawings, one for 5- to 11-year-olds for a gift certificate and one for 12- to 17-year-olds for an iPod.
Adults will sign in when they arrive for the turkey drawing. Refreshments will be served to all.
School
Covington-Douglas student council is sponsoring a recycled paper drive. The paper bin is located in the parking lot west of the football field. All types of paper are welcome including newspapers, magazines, catalogs and mail. However, cardboard, trash and phone books will not be accepted.

On Monday, the boys basketball team will travel to Braman with game at 6:30 p.m. On Tuesday, both basketball teams travel to Aline-Cleo with games starting at 6:30 p.m.

Basketball homecoming will be held Dec. 18 prior to the basketball games versus Dover, starting at 6:30 p.m.

The Wildcats will travel to Billings Dec. 19 to play a rescheduled basketball game, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Covington-Douglas’ band and music Christmas program will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 17.

Covington-Douglas’ fourth-grade class will take a field trip to Rose Hill School in Perry Dec. 17.
Church
Debbie Inselman, a Covington-Douglas graduate and now a missionary in Thailand, will present the message during worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Lucien United Methodist Church.
