An Afternoon With Santa will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday in Covington at the Botanical Gardens.
Children are invited to have their picture taken with Santa. Cost is $3 per picture. The afternoon is being sponsored by Covington Historical Society. Refreshments will be served.

The Angel Tree at First Bank and Trust now is ready for names to be taken. There is a limit of two packages per child this year. There can be a number of items in each package. The packages need to be in by Saturday.

The Wildcat basketball teams will participate in the Pond Creek-Hunter Basketball Tournament this week.

Covington Board of Education will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Church
St. John’s Lutheran Church’s Lutheran women group will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at Joy Schweer’s home followed by a Christmas luncheon.

The youth Christmas program will be held at St. John’s Dec. 20 during the morning worship service at 8:45 a.m.
A Christmas cantata “The Wonder of Christmas” with a fellowship meal will be 4 p.m. Tickets may be obtained for the event.

A Christmas Eve candlelight worship service will be 7 p.m. Dec. 24 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

First Baptist Church will host their holiday dinner at noon today. There will be no evening service.

First Baptist Church’s Christmas special will be presented on Dec. 20.

The adult Christmas party at First Baptist Church will be 6 p.m. Dec. 13.
n
There will be all-church caroling on Dec. 16. Meet at First Baptist Church at 6 p.m. to participate in the caroling.

Kids Quest at First Baptist Church has been collecting food items for the food bank and hats and gloves for the school children.
The group will have a Christmas party Wednesday. Supper is served at 6 p.m. The games and party will finish at 7:45 p.m.
