Senior center to host bazaar and bake sale
Tri County Senior Center will host its Christmas bazaar and bake Sale 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

Covington Utilities Authority met Nov. 4 to discuss the purcahse of a backhoe, but no action was taken.
School
Covington-Douglas Board of Education met in regular session Nov. 2 and approved the operational budget for 2010. Members also chose Simplified Online Communication System to host a school Web site upon changes in the contract. The board declared the old scoreboard in the gymnasium surplus and approved seven student transfers out of the district.

Covington-Douglas Public Schools’ fifth- through eighth-grade basketball team will host Deer Creek-Lamont Monday and Mulhall-Orlando at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Covington High School Wildcats basketball teams travel to DCLA Tuesday and host Waukomis Friday. Games start at 6:30 p.m.
