Brisk business

Local retailers are reporting brisk business today as Black Friday shoppers

comb the stores for bargains.

Many local stores opened early this morning, some as early as 3 a.m.

Retailers who opened early to offer early discounts reported lines of

shoppers waiting for the stores to open.

Retailers say they are expecting a busy first weekend of Christmas shopping.

Downtown stores and restaurants are also expecting good crowds tonight as

Lights Up the Plains gets under way at 5 p.m. Several stores and restaurants

will be open with holiday offerings, and a fireworks show finale will take

place at 7 p.m. Downtown.
