Longfellow students raise $254 for Foundation for Children with Cancer
The students at Longfellow Middle School recenly raised $254 for the Foundation for Children with Cancer.
The students held a “Hats-On Day” fundraiser and during that day students could wear a hat of their choice and make a donation to FCC.
The hats were worn in honor of cancer patients who often choose to wear hats to hide any hair loss, a result of radiation and chemotherapy treatments.
The Foundation for Children with Cancer has a mission to financially assist the families of children with cancer to help those families with mortgage and rent payments, car paymens and utility bills.
Hats On Day began in 1995 in St. Louis and has become a national annual event and has raised over $1 million.
