A 36-year-old Woodward man was hospitalized Thurs-day after crashing his vehicle three miles south of Wood-ward while swerving to avoid a deer.
According to an Oklaho-ma Highway Patrol report, Kelly G. Robertson was south on a county road about 3 a.m. when he said he swerved to miss a deer. Robertson’s 2008 Kia Sportage went off the right side of the road, striking a concrete culvert and continued south in a ditch also striking a utility pole, culvert and embankment.
Robertson was taken by helicopter to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center where he was admitted with leg and body injuries and is listed in stable condition, according to the patrol.
Robertson was not wearing his seat belt, according to the report.
