Two Garfield County residents were injured in separate accidents in the area.
Laura S. Dryden, 38, of Enid, was taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center after being injured in an accident at 9:59 p.m. Tuesday in Alfalfa County, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. She was admitted and listed in good condition with arm, leg and internal injuries, according to the report.
Walter Dale Streck, 44, of Hillsdale, was taken to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center after being injured in an accident at 5:25 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. 81. He was admitted in serious condition with back and internal injuries, according to an OHP report.
The accident that injured Dryden happened at the intersection of Oklahoma 8 and U.S. 64.
According to the OHP report, Dryden was driving a 1992 Honda north on Oklahoma 8. A 2002 Mack truck, driven by Richard A. Busbee, 70, of Woodward, heading west on U.S. 64 was stopped at a stop sign. Busbee failed to yield and pulled out in front of Dryden’s car, according to the report.
The accident that injured Streck happened on U.S. 81, one-half mile north of Lake Hellums Road.
Streck was driving a 1993 Jeep Cherokee north on U.S. 81, according to the report, when he turned west at a crossover in front of a 1995 GMC pickup being driven by Zachery D.K. Jones, 17, of Enid, which was northbound in the southbound lane.
Jones was taken to Bass and treated and released.
