Home show features wide variety of vendors at Expo
The fourth annual Home for the Holidays Home & Garden – Craft & Gift Show hosted booths displaying everything from baby clothing to construction equipment to wine. Around 170 exhibitors showed their goods and services Saturday at Chisholm Trail Expo Center.
Indian Creek Village Winery, near Ringwood, had a booth displaying the winery’s goods.
“We have a variety of wines. We have from fun wines like Cowboy Blush and Sooner Spirit to a very traditional cabernet,” said Jenny Lewis, owner.
Patrons of the home show were given the opportunity to sample some of Indian Creek Village Winery’s wines. They offer Cross Timbers, Sooner Spirit, White Zinfandel, Niagra, Chardonnay, Cowboy Blush, Cabernet Sauvignon, Oklahoma Fruit Wine, Shiraz and Eagle Chief.
“We give some of them names related to the area like Cimarron or Cross Timbers. Cross Timbers is the heavy trees that stretch from Texas to Kansas,” said Lewis.
On Dec. 21, 2008, the winery burnt down. The bed and breakfast, wedding chapel and other parts of the grounds were undamaged.
“We have rebuilt even bigger,” said Lewis. “We’ve come up from the ashes and rebuilt.”
At the Indian Creek Village Winery’s Tasting Room, visitors can enjoy wines of the grapes grown in the vineyard. A restored chapel, that was moved in about three years ago, is available for weddings. There is a turn of century bed and breakfast.
“We are back into doing lots of weddings, Christmas parties right now, intimate dining and bed and breakfast stuff,” said Lewis. “We had a dinner party (Friday). We had prime rib.”
There also is entertainment on Sunday afternoons.
“We’ve been featuring Ronnie Record, a local entertainer,” said Lewis.
Indian Creek Village Winery is open 1 to 7 p.m. every day except Monday. Call ahead at (580) 883-4919 or (580) 883-4922 or go to indiancreekvillage.com.
The home show will continue 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Chisholm Trail Expo Center. Admission is $2. Ages 12 and younger get in free.
