Police have released the names of the victims in a fatality accident Friday evening on West Garriott.
Mary A. Skrdla, 66, of Medford, was pronounced dead at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center following the three-vehicle accident just before 6 p.m. in the 2700 block of West Garriott, according to an Enid Police Department report.
Three other people were injured in the accident.
Heriberto Lopez-Ruiz, 25, of Enid, was transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with injuries to his trunk and legs, according to the report. Lopez-Ruiz had a broken ankle, bruised shin, a red mark across his chest from the seatbelt and a cut on his hand, the report states. Lopez-Ruiz was treated and released.
Nichelas Hobbs, 24, of Enid, was transported by ambulance to Integris Bass with injuries to his trunk, arms and legs. Hobbs had abrasions on his shin, hip, chest and stomach. He also complained of pain in his pelvic area and both arms, the report states. Hobbs is listed in good condition at Bass.
June Paton, 72, of Wichita, Kan., was transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s with injuries to her trunk and head. Paton had a bruise on her chest from a seatbelt, a cut on her cheek and a bruise on her hip, as well as soreness in that area. Paton was treated and released.
According to the report, Skrdla, driving a Cadillac DeVille, exited the La Fiesta Mexican Cafe parking lot and the driver’s side of her car was struck by an east-bound Dodge Stratus, driven by Lopez-Ruiz. The impact spun Lopez-Ruiz and passenger, Hobbs, 180 degrees. The vehicles made impact a second time. Skrdla’s vehicle traveled into westbound lanes of traffic and collided head-on with a Plymouth Grand Voyager driven by Robert Paton, 72, of Wichita. He was not injured.
According to EPD Sgt. Billy Varney, Skrdla did not seem to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
“There was nothing to lead me to believe she was under the influence of anything,’ said Varney. “There is no way to determine if there was a medical condition prior to the crash.”
The accident closed the westbound lanes of Garriott from Cleveland to west of the scene for 3 1/2 hours.
