A 45-year-old Lahoma man was killed Thursday morning in a collision on a county road one mile south of Goltry, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Troopers say Gentry Dean Brakhage was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision with Troy Lee Baumgardner, 46, of Carrier.
The accident happened at 9:50 a.m.
According to an OHP report, Brakhage was eastbound on a county road in his 2006 Ford pickup and approaching an intersection as Baumgardner was northbound in his 2001 Chevy pickup approaching the same intersection. Brakhage failed to yield and the two pickups collided, causing Brakhage’s pickup to roll three-quarters of a time and ejecting him, according to the report.
Baumgardner was taken by Helena EMS to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid, where he was treated for a head injury and released.
According to the report, neither man was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
