An 18-year-old Enid man is facing a single count of lewd molestation for allegedly touching an 11-year-old girl earlier this month.
Danny E. Hart is facing a possible sentence of three to 20 years in prison if convicted of the felony charge.
During his arraignment via video Thursday, Hart told Special District Judge Paul Woodward he had no questions about his rights or the case. He also declined to comment when asked by the judge if he had anything to say before bond was set at $25,000.
According to an affidavit, Enid police were contacted Monday about an 11-year-old who told a counselor a man in her home has been watching her change her clothes and attempting to touch her inappropriately.
The girl was interviewed by a detective and said there were two occasions when Hart had placed his hands on her “private” and her “breasts” while they were playing video games in his bedroom.
She told the detective Hart only touched her on the outside of her clothes and had tried to touch her on the inside of her clothes, but she would not let him.
When police interviewed Hart he said he specifically remembered a time when the girl took his hand and placed it on her breast, on top of her clothes. Hart also said one time when he and the girl were playing video games he placed his hand on the front of the girl’s pants. He said those were the only times he remembered touching the girl.
Hart was ordered to return to court Dec. 21 for a bond appearance.
