Woman facing life term in bar stabbing incident

A 44-year-old Enid woman faces up to life in prison in the stabbing of a 27-year-old woman in the parking lot of a local bar.

Jeanette Outley was arraigned Thursday morning via video on a felony count of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, officers were contacted about 2:40 a.m. Monday by the victim, who told dispatchers she was stabbed and needed medical assistance.

The woman said she was at the bar with a friend named Jeanette Outley and about 1 a.m. they decided to leave and got into a physical fight in the parking lot.

The woman said she and Outley knocked each other to the ground and punched one another. She said she got up and began to walk away when Outley grabbed her and began cutting her with a knife, according to court documents.

In the affidavit, police noted cuts on the woman’s face, head and left arm. Some of the cuts on the woman’s face go through her cheek and into her mouth and she also suffered puncture-type wounds to her stomach.

The woman was taken by ambulance to an area hospital where she underwent surgery for her injuries. The woman’s doctor estimated she lost about a quarter of her blood volume before arriving at the hospital, the affidavit states.

When she spoke with police, Outley admitted she got into a fight with the woman, saying she punched her several times because the woman was drunk and was calling her names. Outley said she did not know the woman’s condition when she left but denied using any type of cutting weapon during the fight.

When police searched Outley’s home they found bloody shoes and clothes, and a 3-inch folding pocket knife.

Outley is being held in lieu of $150,000 and was ordered to return to court Dec. 21 for a bond appearance.
