Police interviewed a woman Wednesday evening they believe was involved in a stabbing the day before.
No arrests have been made and police still were searching for the man who stabbed Dusty McFarland in the chest and abdomen outside the Turf Bar Tuesday evening.
Enid Police Department Capt. Dean Grassino said police are not releasing the names of the suspects until an arrest is made. However, police released further information about the man they believe stabbed McFarland.
The suspect is described as a white male, 46, about 6 feet tall and weighing between 150 and 160 pounds. He has a slender build, long blonde-brown hair possibly in a pony tail, and was wearing a white bandana, camouflage pants and a white T-shirt.
Grassino said police have recovered a baby stroller and knife believed to have been used in the assault.
Dusty McFarland, 49, underwent surgery at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center following the 7:50 p.m. stabbing at the bar, 213 E. Maine, Grassino said.
McFarland and a female acquaintance were at the bar when a man and woman came in pushing a baby stroller. A bar employee told the two they could not come in with a baby and the two left, returning a few minutes later again pushing the stroller. Again the bar employee told them they could not come in and they lifted the blanket showing there was no child in the stroller and commented they left the baby “down the street.”
Grassino said McFarland went outside concerned they’d left the baby, but could not find it. The man and woman exchanged words before the woman left the bar. The man, McFarland and his acquaintance followed her outside.
The woman and McFarland’s acquaintance exchanged some words, and the man attacked McFar-land from behind with a knife, Grassino said. The man and woman left the area after the attack, pushing the baby stroller.
“It is unknown if the suspects actually had a child or if they use the stroller to transport personal belongings,” Grassino said. “It is possible that these two suspects do not have a vehicle and walk around town pushing the stroller.”
Police closed the eastbound lane of Maine between the 200 and 300 blocks for about an hour as evidence was collected and officers worked the scene.
Grassino said investigators are interviewing witnesses and processing evidence. Officers search-ed the area until about 4:15 a.m. Wednesday and recovered a stroller in an alley in the 400 block of East Maine.
Grassino said other evidence was found along with the stroller that led officers to believed it belonged to the man and woman they are seeking.
McFarland was stab-bed in the chest and abdomen and is in the intensive care unit at Bass in critical condition.
